The Journey · 진행 과정

From application to arrival — the 9-step journey 🗺️

The whole process usually takes 2–3 months, so apply about 3 months before you want to start class. iSeodang submits and tracks everything with EMGS for you.

📝
STEP 01

Apply to iSeodang

Day 0

Submit the International Student Visa Program application form together with your documents from the checklist above. We review everything before it goes anywhere.

💳
STEP 02

Pay the initial fees

Day 1–3

Pay the 30% tuition deposit + visa processing fees (about RM 7,700–8,800 depending on your course — full breakdown in the Costs section below).

🔍
STEP 03

EMGS & Immigration review

4–8 weeks

We submit your file to EMGS, who checks it and passes it to the Immigration Department. You can follow the live status on the EMGS website or mobile app — like a parcel tracker for your visa!

💡 Tip: incomplete documents are the #1 cause of delays. That’s why we double-check your file before submission.
🎉
STEP 04

🛂
STEP 06

With the eVAL, apply online for the e-Visa on the official immigration portal (10 eligible countries), or get a Single Entry Visa at a Malaysian embassy. Many nationalities skip this step entirely.

✈️
STEP 07

Before flying

Book your ticket to Senai Airport (JHB) or Singapore Changi, and submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within 3 days before arrival.

📋
STEP 08

We handle it

Send us your e-Visa approval and flight ticket. We arrange the immigration endorsement submission and your airport clearance — and our team will be waiting to pick you up. 🚐

🇲🇾
STEP 09

Welcome to Malaysia — classes begin!

You made it!

Within your first week: medical screening at an EMGS panel clinic (within 7 days), passport submitted for the Student Pass sticker, and your i-Kad student ID arrives. Then it’s orientation, your placement test, and day one of class. 🎓

Q&A · 자주 묻는 질문

Student visa questions, answered ❓

Filter by topic or tap any question. Still curious? WhatsApp us anytime — real humans answer.

EMGS and Immigration review takes 4–8 weeks after we submit a complete file. Adding document preparation and travel planning, plan for 2–3 months total — so apply about 3 months before you want to start class.
The student visa for language centres is for ages 18–45. Outside that range, you can still study with us on short visits without a student visa (under 90 days, visa-free for many nationalities), or online through our LMS. Contact us and we’ll find your best route.
Most nationalities can apply. After eVAL approval: many countries enter Malaysia without any extra visa; 10 countries (China, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bhutan, Serbia, Montenegro) use the online e-Visa (~48 h); a few need a Single Entry Visa from a Malaysian embassy. We confirm your exact route when you apply.
You need your highest academic certificate (secondary/high school or above) for the visa file. There’s no entrance exam — just a friendly placement test after arrival so you start at the right level.
Rejections are rare when the file is complete — that’s why we pre-check everything. If it happens, we review the official reason with you and guide a corrected re-submission where possible. We’ll always be honest about your chances before you spend money.
Yes — iSeodang provides parent/guardian visa support as part of the Student Support program. Tell us your family situation when you apply and we’ll explain the options.
Before the visa is processed you pay the 30% tuition deposit + registration + materials + visa & insurance + personal bond + airport clearance — roughly RM 7,700–8,800 depending on the course (see the Costs section). The remaining tuition is paid only after your visa is approved.
It’s a refundable security deposit required by Malaysian Immigration for every international student. The amount depends on nationality (RM 300–2,000, calculated by EMGS). Follow the visa rules, finish your course, leave properly — and it comes back to you.
Yes — medical insurance is mandatory for all international students and is included in the RM 2,400 visa & insurance fee, together with your EMGS processing, medical screening and i-Kad.
JB is one of the most affordable student cities near Singapore. iSeodang dorm rooms run RM 340–1,090/month; with food, transport and phone, most students live comfortably on RM 1,500–1,800/month.
Three things: ① medical screening at an EMGS panel clinic within 7 days (we take you there), ② your passport goes in for the Student Pass sticker, ③ you receive your i-Kad student ID. Meanwhile you do orientation and your placement test — classes start right away.
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card — a free online form every traveller submits within 3 days before arrival. It takes 5 minutes at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main. We remind you before your flight.
Yes! Airport pickup is part of the program — your airport clearance is arranged in advance and our team meets you on arrival. Dormitory residents also get a free shuttle to school.
No — Malaysia does not allow language centre students to work. Plan your budget for the full course before you come. (We do offer employment assistance for your career path after your studies.)
Yes — Immigration requires students to keep at least 80% attendance. Falling below can put your pass at risk of cancellation. Come to class, learn fast, keep your visa safe — everybody wins. 😄
Yes — visa support runs from 6 months up to 4 years. Renewal costs roughly RM 930–1,000 per year and should start 2–3 months before expiry. We track your dates and remind you.
Once your Student Pass is endorsed in your passport, you can travel in and out of Malaysia while it’s valid — many students spend weekends in Singapore, 30 minutes away. Keep your passport, pass and i-Kad valid and with you.

Ready to start your Malaysia story? 🇲🇾

Apply today, and in about 2–3 months you could be landing in Johor Bahru with your visa approved, your room ready, and our team waiting at the airport.

Visa rules, fees and processing times are set by the Malaysian Immigration Department and EMGS and may change without notice. Figures on this page are from the iSeodang International Student Program brochure (2026) and official sources as of August 2026, and are provided as a guide — the final amounts are confirmed in your offer letter. iSeodang Language Centre is not a government agency.
