Malaysia’s student visa system is simpler than it looks once you know these four terms. iSeodang guides you through every one of them.
Student Pass
The long-term permission that lets you live and study in Malaysia for a course longer than 90 days. It goes into your passport as a sticker after you arrive.

Your official student ID card issued by Immigration after your pass is endorsed. Carry it with you in Malaysia — it works as your identity document.

These are the requirements for a student visa at a Malaysian language centre like iSeodang.
Age
Language centre students must be between 18 and 45 years old. (Universities have no age limit.)
Nationality
Students from most countries can apply. Our current students come from 10+ countries — Dominican Republic, Poland, India, Korea and more.
Education
Bring your highest academic certificate (secondary school or above). No language test is needed to join a language course.
Passport
Your passport should be valid for at least 12 months (18 months recommended) with blank pages for the visa sticker.
Course
You must enrol full-time (20 hours/week). iSeodang visa courses run from 6 months up to 4 years.
Health
A simple health declaration before arrival, then a medical screening at a clinic within 7 days after you land.
A few other nationalities need a Single Entry Visa from a Malaysian embassy before flying. Not sure which group you’re in? Ask us — we check for you.

Your highest certificate (high school or above). If it’s not in English, add a certified translation.

A simple health form — we give you the template and help you fill it in.

Check the expiry date now — renew first if it expires within a year.
From application to arrival — the 9-step journey 🗺️
The whole process usually takes 2–3 months, so apply about 3 months before you want to start class. iSeodang submits and tracks everything with EMGS for you.
Apply to iSeodang
Day 0Submit the International Student Visa Program application form together with your documents from the checklist above. We review everything before it goes anywhere.
Pay the initial fees
Day 1–3Pay the 30% tuition deposit + visa processing fees (about RM 7,700–8,800 depending on your course — full breakdown in the Costs section below).
EMGS & Immigration review
4–8 weeksWe submit your file to EMGS, who checks it and passes it to the Immigration Department. You can follow the live status on the EMGS website or mobile app — like a parcel tracker for your visa!
eVAL approved!
MilestoneImmigration issues your electronic Visa Approval Letter (eVAL) — the official YES. It’s usually valid for 6 months, so there’s comfortable time to plan your travel.
Pay the remaining tuition
1–2 daysSettle the rest of your 6-month tuition (e.g. RM 8,400 for the English Beginner course). Your seat is now fully secured.
Entry visa (if your country needs one)
~48 hoursWith the eVAL, apply online for the e-Visa on the official immigration portal (10 eligible countries), or get a Single Entry Visa at a Malaysian embassy. Many nationalities skip this step entirely.
Book your flight & arrival card
Before flyingBook your ticket to Senai Airport (JHB) or Singapore Changi, and submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within 3 days before arrival.
Endorsement & airport clearance
We handle itSend us your e-Visa approval and flight ticket. We arrange the immigration endorsement submission and your airport clearance — and our team will be waiting to pick you up. 🚐
Welcome to Malaysia — classes begin!
You made it!Within your first week: medical screening at an EMGS panel clinic (within 7 days), passport submitted for the Student Pass sticker, and your i-Kad student ID arrives. Then it’s orientation, your placement test, and day one of class. 🎓
